about

“I’m getting tired of trying to explain myself,” Kristen sings in the memorable opening verse of ‘Someday.’ An introspective look at the effects of toxic relationships and the resilience needed to overcome them, this song manages to send a powerful message while retaining the catchy, pop appeal of the artist’s best work. Ultimately, it is a song of perseverance in the face of constant conflict. Kristen’s voice is lovely and movingly honest.

lyrics

'Someday'

I don’t know ‘bout you but I’m getting tired,
Tired of trying to explain myself.
I can see your mind is twisting and turning.
Uncovering a past you’re not ready to see.

Now you sharpen your arrows. And steady your knife.
Jagged are your edges when you’re ready to fight.
It would take an eclipse to overshadow your lies
But only for a moment, you go blind. You go blind.

Chorus
Someday you’ll come ‘round and I’ll be nowhere to be found
I’ll clear away the fog and be a rainbow in the clouds

Now if I were your shadow, and spoke your lies.
If I did your dirty work, would you be satisfied?
Or would you starve and crucify my dignity and pride.
Torture me the way you agonize inside

Bridge
I won’t let you drag me down
When bitter feelings hide upon the moving ground.
Tell me, am I coming through.
I can’t change your mind or change your point of view.

Chorus
