Canadian jewelry designer Jane Apothem has teamed up with folk musician Kristen Martell in designing an exclusive necklace inspired by her newly-released album, 'Every Season'.

This unique piece features spirals of hammered distressed copper on leather cord. Spirals are some of the oldest geometric shapes in ancient artwork and are a link to nature, representing the ever changing seasons. They represent the cycle of life; birth, growth, death and are a symbol of change.

One side has been treated to protect from the elements, the other left untreated to acquire a patina over time – a symbol of aging gracefully into new forms of beauty while maintaining balance in the turbulence of life.

Materials:
Hand-hammered and distressed copper spirals on leather cord, terminating in rose gold extender chain and lobster clasp. One side of the copper spirals is treated with a coating to maintain the bright copper tone, the opposite side will develop a patina and darken slightly over time.

Care:
Do not wet leather. To clean, gently brush copper with toothbrush dipped in warm, soapy water and rinse carefully, avoiding the leather. Do not wear in the shower or while bathing or swimming. This is a handmade item – careful handling is recommended.
